Psychoanalytically based Therapy with Children In this developing area psychoanalytic psychotherapists work with children who often have behavioural or emotional problems. As with adult psychoanalytic therapy the emphasis is on communication and the unconscious, with an additional focus on drawing, play and 30 TRAINING IN COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY educational tasks. Often because the child is part of a family system the parents and/or family are also asked to go into treatment. The two member organisations are the Association of Child Psychotherapists and Forum for the Advancement of Educational Therapy and Therapeutic Teaching.

Section representatives are appointed by each Section. Elected Members (Of®cers, Ordinary Members and Institutional Members) are elected at the AGM. 2 Registration Board. The Registration Board members are appointed by Sections. Each Section can appoint representatives to the Registration Board in the ratio of one representative for every ten or part thereof approved training or accrediting organisations in that Section. In addition, every Special Member and every Institutional Member appoints a representative.
